    Sleep Techniques? Empty Sleep Techniques?

I was just wondering if anyone has any techniques that help them to sleep at night or do your eyes close as soon as your head hits the pillow?

I used to sleep really easily but of late I find it hard.

Do you have any tips or any wacky or fun things you do before you go sleep to help you relax (maybe a small glass of whiskey)

Counting elephants they are much heavier than sheep. Laughing

erm no caffiene for at least 7pm onwards .. write things down in a journal to say your peace instead of mulling them over in the head.

warm bath with essential oils ..

erm.. meditation is the best for me or at least try deep breathing and calming your breath down.

In the past i used to fall asleep immediatley after lying in bed. Now, things have changed and i find it hard to fall asleep. It usually takes an hour. I tryed counting sheep, then counting all sorts of other animals but that didn't work lol.

I noticed that there are some things which help. At least most of the times.
You have to be really tired when you go to bed in order to fall asleep fast. I noticed i fell asleep easier after a very busy day. If you are not very tired or just go to bed because there's nothing left to do then it might take a while.
If you have insomnia, or just trouble falling asleep, it's very bad to ask yourself in your mind: "What can i do to fall asleep??" or stress yourself saying "Now i shall fall asleep... any time now...5 more minutes". I noticed this only keeps you awake! In my case it works if i simply not think of anything.

I don't know about the glass of whiskey, Casey Smile . All the doctors advice not to drink alcohol because it keeps you awake, but they might be wrong. I tryed drinking a small glass of red wine before going to bed and that helped a lot. But wine is softer. I don't advice drinking "concentrated" stuff like whiskey before going to bed. On long term they may cause digestion problems.
My mom falls asleep easily after drinking milk before going to bed. I never tried that because i don't like milk lol.
