Do you trust your impressions?
Just to help set up the new forum, I am wondering if you trust your impressions or have you been known to discount them?

Re: Do you trust your impressions?
I always trust my impressions but then sometimes I can get easily swayed by others opinions and thoughts. I always try to teach others to trust their impressions and intuitions and I do this all the time but I can say sometimes, depending on my frame of mind, my mind can be changed, even if my heart wants to stick with the first impression.
I am getting much better at it and I really do believe that your gut feeling should be the only answer, trust the impressions you recieve so long as they are positive

Re: Do you trust your impressions?
I tend to decode my impressions sometimes and try to rationalize them and that's where I come unstuck...because I can easily sway myself to go the opposite way....and mostly always find out later that I should have gone with the feeling.

Re: Do you trust your impressions?
By impression, do you mean intuition, or opinions you have based on your experience?
I surely trust my intuition, many times it helps more than logic.
As for the opinions i have...i trust they are alright, but i don't hesitate to change them if things turn out to be otherwise. I like to listen to what other people have to say and understand their points of view. But i try not to be influenced, so that it's still me who formes my own opinion. And i accept that the first impression can be wrong. So i don't have a firm impression about something, until i get to know more about it.

Re: Do you trust your impressions?
Good point Shael, intuition is what you pick up underneath the overt message. So it's like the covert message which is trying to tell you the truth. Such as when people are telling you lies, you can use your intuition to guide you to the truth and trust the vibes that you receive when listening to the person. You come away and you say "I don't think he or she was telling me as it is"
That is your intuition kicking in.
Hope that makes sense

Re: Do you trust your impressions?
Yes Matt, I do have firm impressions too on meeting someone or about circumstances and sometimes other people think I'm just being picky when I express the feeling... because they say they don't see it the way I do....usually what I see turns out to be spot on.
When I was a kid, I used to get upset about things easily ....Mum used to say to me...'You're too thin skinned, that isn't anything to get upset about...you get upset about nothing.'
I think even then I used to pick up on subtle energies that others in the family couldn't or were denying.
